The Successful Interview- For a successful interview, you need the right attitude, you need to be memorable, and you need to be your most likable.

The Helpful Head: Interviewing for a job, a promotion, or end of year review is a strange experience. The customary mindset can sound defensive, over-confident, or desperate. You will find it much easier to succeed in these situations if you help them solve their problem. You need to get into a helpful head.

The Successful Interview will help you approach interviews with The Helpful Head.

Likeability: Think about it. When it comes down to 2 or 3 candidates for a job, who gets hired? Almost always, they go with the one they like. The same is true with promotions. All things being equal, decision makers go with the people they like.Yet, we get virtually no Likeability training in our academic and professional education.

A huge UCLA study tested what made someone likable. The study found that there are 3 major contributors to whether or not someone likes you.

According to the study, your likeability depends on:

  • 55%- how your look
  • 38%- how you sound
  • 7%- the words you use.

That's right, 93% of your Likeability is decided by how you look and sound!

Everybody has a likeable side, but if you are like most people, you have spent a lifetime using your face, voice, and posture to protect yourself. These protective walls prevent you from showing your most likable self. That's a shame, because likeability helps you connect. Likeability helps you be more successful. Likeability is the final decision maker. Likeability wins.

Likeability can be learned. The Successful Interview shows you how to use your face, body and voice to be your most likable.

Storytelling- The best communicators are storytellers. The best interviews include stories. Anybody can be a good storyteller. Professional stories help your listener like you, trust you, remember you, and want to work with you.  Your stories help people tell others about you. When that happens; they are campaigning for you!

When you want to influence your audience, you need to tell personal stories. Stories focus your message. Think of The Bible, the most popular book in the history of the world. It has one page of rules, The Ten Commandments, and the rest . . . stories people remember. Stories work.

The Successful Interview will develop your stories. We will also give you the skills to develop more stories in the future.

The Successful Interview will give you personal communication tools to help make your complicated message simple, personal, and memorable.
